Firm
History
Urbina Architects Inc. was established in 1999. The firm is
managed by the Architect Francisco J. Urbina. He has a BFA in the
History of Art from the University of Illinois at Champain-Urbana
and a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of
Wisconsin Milwaukee. His 20+ years of experience are diverse
including design in Healthcare, Restaurants, Municipal, Custom Homes
and numerous Remodeling projects. Francisco is a member of the
American Institute of Architects and of the National Trust for
Historic Preservation.
The firm emphasizes the importance between the overall design and
the construction process by providing professional construction
management services whenever possible. This lends itself to the
control of a fixed budget, the quality and scheduling of
construction and achieving the aesthetic design intent for each
project.
Francisco was born in Honduras Central America. In 1982 he was
employed by an architectural engineering firm in the capital of
Honduras, Tegucigalpa where he experienced design requirements
necessary to meet the extreme climate and poverty of the country.
Urbina Architects, Inc. has recently designed and built a custom
home in Honduras in the province of Juticalpa, Olancho. The home was
constructed of adobe blocks hand fabricated from on-site clay and
hand picked pine trees locally sawn for the roof construction.
Francisco also studied in Paris, France and Rome and Venice, Italy
and has visited numerous countries in Europe. Urbina Architects, Inc. will provide architectural
services anywhere in the United States and abroad as feasible.
